The Programmes
Three Ways to Read Your Financial Life More Clearly
Each programme is built around a specific aspect of household finance that matters at 40 and beyond. They can be taken independently or in sequence, depending on what is most relevant to your situation.

The Tien Wealth Approach
Every Tien Wealth programme begins with the same principle: that the person in the room already knows something. Adults at 40 have managed money for twenty years or more. They have made decisions — some considered, some not — and they carry that experience into any new learning context. A good facilitator works with that experience, not around it.
This means the programmes are structured as guided readings, not as lectures. The facilitator introduces a concept, provides printed materials that explain it in plain terms, and then creates space for questions and discussion. There is no rush to cover a syllabus, and no assumption that faster is better.
The Thai financial landscape is the consistent backdrop. Fund structures, credit regulations, and household financial patterns in Thailand differ meaningfully from those in other markets, and the programmes address that specificity directly. Examples are drawn from Thai fund factsheets, Thai bank products, and the household circumstances common to families in Chonburi and the Eastern Seaboard.
Sessions are kept small — a maximum of ten participants — because genuine discussion requires a room where people feel comfortable asking questions that might seem simple. At that size, the facilitator can track where each participant is and adjust accordingly.
Programme One
A Patient Reading of Funds and Indices
A four-session programme that introduces the reading of Thai-market funds, the SET and SET50 indices, and the role of regional indices in a household portfolio. The facilitator works at a pace suited to adult learners returning to the topic for the first time in years, with a focus on comprehension rather than activity. Each session ends with a few suggested further readings; no specific investments are recommended. A printed glossary is provided.
- SET and SET50 index structures explained in plain terms
- How to read a Thai mutual fund factsheet
- Fund categories as defined by the Thai SEC
- The role of regional indices in a mixed portfolio
- Printed glossary included, yours to keep
Format: Four sessions · Small group (max 10) · North Pattaya
How the Four Sessions Progress
Orientation: Vocabulary and the structure of the Thai fund industry. Glossary distributed and introduced.
Reading the SET: What the index measures, how it moves, and what it does not tell you.
Fund Factsheets: Working through a sample factsheet together. Questions addressed in detail.
Regional Context: How Thai funds relate to broader Asian indices. Further reading suggestions provided.
Programme Two
The Annual Conversation with the Household
A weekend workshop on the gentle practice of an annual conversation about household money — among couples, among extended families, or simply with oneself. The facilitator provides a printed conversation guide that walks through the considerations a household at 40+ might wish to review once a year, and offers prompts for the questions that often go unspoken. Participants leave with the printed guide for use at home.
- A structured approach to the annual household review
- Prompts for questions couples and families often avoid
- Suitable for individuals, couples, or family pairs
- Printed conversation guide to take home
- Weekend format: Saturday and Sunday mornings
Format: Weekend workshop (Sat–Sun mornings) · Small group (max 10) · North Pattaya
Workshop Structure
Saturday Morning: What a household review is and why it matters. Introduction to the printed conversation guide.
Sunday Morning: Working through the guide's prompts. Discussion of the questions that tend to be hardest to raise. Practical use at home.
Programme Three
Considered Use of Credit at 40+
A three-session programme on the careful use of credit in midlife — credit cards, personal loans, home equity, and the considerations particular to households balancing several responsibilities at once. The facilitator presents the technical mechanics and the historical patterns of household credit in Thailand, alongside reflective material on the relationship between credit and household stress. Each participant leaves with a personal one-page credit map.
- Thai household credit mechanics explained clearly
- Credit card, personal loan, and home equity structures
- Historical patterns of midlife credit in Thailand
- The relationship between credit load and household stress
- Personal one-page credit map prepared for each participant
Format: Three sessions · Small group (max 10) · North Pattaya
Session Structure
The Mechanics: How credit products work in Thailand — terms, interest structures, regulatory framework.
The Patterns: Historical and current patterns of household credit in Thailand. The signals that a credit position is becoming difficult.
Your Credit Map: Each participant's personal one-page credit map is completed and discussed. Questions addressed individually.
